REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROJECT
Our requirements for the power point presentation will include 10-11 slides on how the samurai affected feudal Japan, how it was similar to other societies such as Europe, and also several slides on proving the big idea and essential questions. Each group can use our big idea or make one of their own. This is a basic layout of the slides:
1. Cover (group members, pictures)
2. Introduction (big idea, summary of slides)
3. Venn diagram on similarities between Europe and Japan, shows understanding of feudalism and different aspects of society. Compares social classes and other elements.
4. The samurai and how it affected society, as well as the warrior code.
5. Trade and the spread of ideas (religion, resources, etc.) and the affect on Japan by Korea and China.
6. Basic geography of Japan.
7. Prince Shotoku and how he affected society of Japan as a whole.
8. Japanese Buddhism and how it developed and affected Japan.
9. The lasting effects of the ninth and tenth centuries' golden age in several subjects and areas, as well as Murasaki Shikibu's Tale of Genji.
10. How feudal Japan affects us today.
